United Academy of Los Angeles – Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the United Academy of Los Angeles website and services, including but not limited to violin lessons, language lessons, private instruction, group classes, workshops, and any related educational content (collectively, the “Services”).

By accessing our website or enrolling in any Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.


1. Eligibility

You must be at least eighteen (18) years old to enroll in Services. Minors may participate only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on the minor’s behalf.


2. Services Provided

Violin Lessons

  • Offered in private or group formats

  • Available in-person and/or online

  • Lesson length, frequency, and instructor assignment are determined by United Academy of Los Angeles

Language Lessons

  • Offered in private or group formats

  • Available in-person and/or online

  • Curriculum, instructors, and teaching methods are determined at our discretion

We reserve the right to modify, reschedule, replace instructors, or discontinue any Service at any time without prior notice.


3. Enrollment & Payment

  • All Services must be paid in full and in advance, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • Prices are subject to change at any time.

  • Payments are processed through approved payment providers.

  • By submitting payment, you authorize us to charge the selected payment method.

  • All fees are non-refundable, except as expressly stated in this policy or required by California law.


4. Scheduling, Cancellations & Rescheduling

Student Cancellations

  • A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a lesson.

  • Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will result in forfeiture of the lesson, with no refund or credit.

  • Failure to attend a scheduled lesson (“no-show”) results in automatic forfeiture of that lesson.

Instructor or Academy Cancellations

  • If we cancel a lesson, we will provide either:

    • A rescheduled lesson, or

    • A credit toward future lessons

  • No refunds will be issued for instructor-related cancellations unless services are fully discontinued.


5. Refund Policy

General Rule

All payments made to United Academy of Los Angeles are final and non-refundable once processed.

Cancellation Before First Lesson

If you cancel your enrollment at least 48 hours before your first scheduled lesson, you may receive a partial refund, subject to:

  • A 15% administrative processing fee, and

  • Deduction of any costs already incurred

After Services Begin

Once a student has attended a lesson or accessed instructional materials, no refunds will be issued under any circumstances, including dissatisfaction, schedule conflicts, or change of personal circumstances.

Credits

Credits may be issued solely at our discretion for documented emergencies.
Credits:

  • Are non-transferable

  • Have no cash value

  • Must be used within six (6) months of issuance

Program Cancellation by the Academy

If we permanently cancel a class or program and cannot reschedule, students will receive either:

  • A credit toward future services, or

  • A refund for the unused portion only

Approved refunds are processed within 30 days.


6. No-Show Policy

Missed lessons without proper notice are forfeited. No refunds, credits, or makeup lessons will be provided.


7. Student Conduct

Students and guardians must behave respectfully toward instructors, staff, and other students.
We reserve the right to terminate Services immediately for disruptive, abusive, or inappropriate behavior.
No refunds will be issued for termination due to misconduct.


8. Intellectual Property

All lesson materials, recordings, curriculum, exercises, and content remain the exclusive property of United Academy of Los Angeles.
You may not copy, record, distribute, sell, or reuse materials without written permission.


9. Privacy

Your use of our Services is subject to our Privacy Policy. We comply with applicable California privacy laws, including the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA).


10. Assumption of Risk & Limitation of Liability

Participation in lessons is at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

  • Our total liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific Service in dispute.


11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.


12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of our Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
